Day 1 is about to begin: Busy day with New Life Bible and awesome Kinyarwandan worship; Hotel Rwanda, Genocide Memorial, Nyamata, and then I get Baptized.
Just a quick note after a long trip. I have arrived and am excited to get baptized tomorrow and to be here and to see what God has in store for me. Thanks for all of your support.
This summer I am praying to go to Rwanda. My mom will be helping to lead a team there and I have wanted to go there for a long time, so this would be a great time for me to see Rwanda. While there, I would be serving schools, ministries, and other programs through Africa New Life Ministries. If you want to learn more about all the great things they do, you can visit the website at www.africanewlife.org.
Another thing I would get to do is visit the kids our family sponsors. A few years ago, for Christmas, I only wanted for my gift was to sponsor a girl, Valentine. We write each other during the year. My mom got to meet her a few years ago when she was in Rwanda, and Valentine told my mom that I needed to come next time so we could sing and dance together, so I am sure we will be doing that together!
God put Africa on my heart when I was five and started Friends of Kira, and now I know it’s time for me to go. I have a big heart for the orphans and poor children. I consider the kids we sponsor the brothers and sisters I never had, and will consider the new kids I meet the same way. I am excited to meet new people, learn about their life, and show them love: God’s love. I also know that I am going to learn a lot about myself, and a lot, in general.
I would like to invite you to partner with me in prayer for my time in Rwanda loving and serving people in the country.
Thank you for praying for me!Love, Kira
